Sid Meiers has finally released an updated version of Colonization! In the early 90's this game was my all time favourite of the civilization genre games! I hated to give it up when I upgraded my OS to Windows XP, but it just didn't play properly. Now I hope to enjoy the addiction anew! I just read an article in Maximum PC Magazine reviewing the new game. The reviewer gave it an 8, but if it is anything like the original Colonization (and it sounds like it is) I'll give it a 10! Tomorrow I'll begin my search to find the game.

Our wonderful new laptops
Shortly after I installed Blogger Buddy, Lannie and I realized that we had overspent. So we had to hock our wonderful, brand new laptops until payday. We got them back last Friday (we got our pay early because of the holiday weekend). When I started to use my laptop after it being in hock, it began acting really flakey. I suspect that someone used my laptop while it was in hock. They are not supposed to do that but it is not the first time I've gotten something back acting strange or with a suddenly dead battery that had been full when it was taken in.
Anyway, we've got them back now and we have to make sure we don't overspend this month. I hate being poor!

Checking Out Blogger Buddy
I just downloaded this gadget called Blogger Buddy for my Vista Sidebar and I'm writing this to see if it really does what it's supposed to do. I have a really hard time blogging because I forget to make entries. It's not that I don't have things to say, I just forget to write them down. So if this little gadget can help me get into the habit of blogging it's a great thing!
I believe in God.
Beyond a shadow of a doubt. It seems to me that most people don't believe in Him. I can't understand why people don't believe. I think there is evidence of his presence everywhere I look.
I spent most of my childhood being afraid that God didn't exist and being spooked by the idea that he did. I think most kids are spooked by the idea that someone watches over us. Santa's bad enough, but God too? As kids we don't know if God is a good guy or a bad guy. We're confused by people who tell us that God is good, but then they tell us he does bad things like killing people.
I find that even the clergy people today don't believe. They pay lip service, but you can tell by their behavior that they don't really believe. Do you think that someone who abuses children believes in God? I sure don't. Or the church that allows them to continue? Not a chance. You can't behave like that if you believe in God. It just isn't possible.

In the Beginning
I've never been good at keeping a journal or blog because I've never felt that I had anything to say that I thought anyone else wanted to hear. These days, however, I don't care whether anyone wants to read what I write. I feel a need to write down what I think and feel. So I'm doing this to please myself. If what I think and feel have an effect on others that's great, but it's not why I'm doing this. This is for me.
